Honey Chilli Fish
Honey chilli fish is prepared by marinating fish with some spices and deep fry it. Later toss it in a honey chilli sauce and serve.
This restaurant style honey chilli fish is our all time favourite in our home. It’s a great appetiser for a part or pot luck. Those who loves to explore sea foods can give it a try. Since it’s boneless kids love to have it more.
Ingredients:
Fish fillets (boneless) - 2
All purpose flour - 2 tbsp
Cornflour - 1 tbsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Spring onion -1 green part(chopped)
Garlic - 1 tsp (finely chopped)
Ginger - 1 tsp (finely chopped)
Green chilli- 2 (chopped )
chilli sauce - 1 tsp
Honey - 1 tbsp
Soy sauce - 1 tsp
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
Oil - 3 tbsp
Preparation:
1. Cut the fish fillets into small pieces. Transfer this into a bowl for marination. Add salt, lemon juice, red chilli paste. Mix well.
2. To this add soy sauce, maida, cornflour and little water. Mix well and keep aside.
3. Heat oil for deep frying. Once it is hot, put the fish pieces one by one. Fry till it is crisp and golden brown colour.
4. In another pan, take 1 tbsp oil and into it add ginger and garlic. Let it change its colour a bit. In the mean time, take 1 tsp cornflour and mix with little water and keep this aside.
5. To the ginger and garlic, add green chillies (finely chopped). Add soy sauce, chilli sauce . Mix well and add little water. Season with salt to taste.
6. Add the cornflour mixture which you had prepared earlier.
7. To this mixture add honey. Into this, put the fried fish pieces and mix well.
8. Toss well. And for garnish, add the chopped spring onion greens.
9. Serve it hot as a starter.
