Fish Fry - a simple and delicious pan fried South Indian fish fry.
Fish Fry
Fish fry is prepared by marinating fish with some Indian spices later deep fry or shallow fry in a pan or and serve hot.
This is the simplest version of South Indian fish fry with basic ingredients available in our kitchen. We can adjust the spice level according to our taste. Curry leaves wen fry along with fish gives nice aroma to the dish.
We can see this dish in menu in almost all South Indian restaurants.
Ingredients:
Katla/Asian Carp fish pieces- 500 gms (5 big pieces)
Oil - 4 tbsp
For Marination:
Salt- 1 tbsy
Turmeric powde r-1/2 tsp
Red Chilli Powder- 1 tbsp
Coriander powder- 1 tsp
Garam masala powder- 1 tsp
lemon juice- 2 tsp
Ginger garlic paste- 1 tbsp
Curry leaves - 2 tbsp (chopped)
Oil- 2 tsp
Preparation:
1. Clean and wash the fish pieces.
2. Add all the items for the marinade specified above. Mix it well and set aside for 1 hr.
3. Take a frying pan and heat the oil.
4. Now place the fish pieces side by side and fry on medium heat for 3 mins. Reduce the heat to low and continue to fry for another 3 mins.
5. Now turn the pieces on the other side and repeat the same on the other side
6. Turn it again and continue frying on low heat for 2 mins more on both sides.
7. Remove from flame and serve hot!!
