Ellu Thogayal or sesame seeds chutney
Ellu thogayal or sesame seeds chutney is prepared by dry roast sesame seeds with other flavourful ingredients. It’s rich in calcium and Iron.

Ingredients:
Black sesame seeds- 1/2 cup
White sesame seeds- 1/2 cup
Chana dal - 1 tbsp
Urad dal - 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
Garlic- 2 clove
Tamarind- lemon sized
Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
Red chilli- 2
Curry leaves- a little
Gingelly oil - 2 tbsp
Asafoetida
Salt
Preparation:
1. Dry roast black and white sesame seeds separately and keep it aside.
2. Heat oil in a pan, Temper mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, chana dal and urad dal.
3. Add red chilli, tamarind and garlic. Saute for sometime.
4. Add grated coconut and roasted sesame seeds, saute for a minute.
5. Transfer it to a blender and add salt, asafoetida.
6. Blend to a smooth paste, add little water if necessary but not too much
7. Serve it with rice and dosa!!
