Crispy Fried Bitter Gourd Salad
Bitter gourd salad is a sri Lankan salad and popularly known as karawila sambal. Here bitter gourd is deep fried and added with other veggies.
I personally like to have pomegranate in this salad so I have added. It’s not in their authentic recipe and you can skip it. I deep fried the bitter gourd but for healthy option we can Use air fryer too.
Those who wants to add bitter gourd in their diet bt don like to have because of it’s bitterness can include in their diet. We can also serve it to kids too. It’s crispy, crunchy and healthy too.
Ingredients:
Bitter gourd - 2
Onion - 1/2 cup (thinly sliced)
Tomato- 1/2 cup (finely chopped)
Green chilli- 1 (chopped)
Lemon juice - 2 tbsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Pepper powder- 1 tsp
Pomegranate- 1/2 cup
Oil - for frying
Preparation:
1. Wash and slice the bitter gourd into thin slices.
2. Marinate the bitter gourd by adding turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt. Keep it marinate atleast for 10 mins.
3. Heat oil in a pan, deep the marinated bitter gourd until it’s brown and crispy.
4. Drain nd keep it aside.
5. Chop the veggies and keep it ready
6. In a mixing bowl, add fried bitter gourd, onion, tomato, green chilli, pomegranate, lemon juice, pepper powder.
7. Mix everything thoroughly and serve.
