Paneer Tikka Recipe – where paneer is marinated in a spicy and super flavorful tandoori masala and grilled to the perfection. These skewers of soft paneer, with a burst of tandoori flavors are as addictive as they are in any Indian restaurants.Traditionally a Tikka is grilled in a tandoor which infuses its characteristic smoky flavour into the food. The marinade is primarily made with thick yogurt known as Hung Curd, which is spiced with many different kinds of ground spices.Paneer is rich in protein and calcium and a great source of healthy fats.
For Marination:
Hung curd -400 gms
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder- 2 tsp
Pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder- 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder- 1/2 tsp
Garam masala- 1 tsp
Lemon juice- juice of 1 lemon
Kasuri methi- 1 tsp
Besan flour- 2 tsp
Corn flour - 1 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp.
For Tikka:
Paneer- 600 gms
Green capsicum- 1
Yellow capsicum- 1
Red capsicum- 1
Onion- 2
Preparation:
1. Cut paneer into cubes. Cut onions and all three capsicums into wedges.
2. In a bowl, mix curd, turmeric powder, chilli powder, pepper, salt, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, chaat masala, ginger garlic paste, lemon juice, kasuri methi.
3. Add besan flour and corn flour to the marinade and mix well.
4. Add paneer and veggies into the marinade and mix to coat well.
5. Let the marinated mixture rest for 3 hours.
6. Skewer the marinated paneer, onion, and capsicum pieces on sticks.
7. Heat a grill pan and lightly grease with oil.
8. Place skewers on the pan and close the lid for 2 minutes for each side.
9. Turn skewers to cook on all sides, brushing oil as needed.
10. Remove from the pan and serve hot with mint chutney.
