Chicken Chinthamani - a Kongunadu special chicken recipe made by using shallots and deseeded red chilli.
Chicken Chinthamani
Chicken Chinthamani is a delicious, roasted-style chicken in which small pieces of chicken cooked with shallots, dry red chilli (deseeded) and aromatic curry leaves.
Chinthamani Chicken is widely famous in kongunadu region. Traditionally it is prepared in sesame oil in iron kadai. The shallots and dry red chilli gives flavour to the chicken and curry gives gud aroma makes it a wholesome dish.
Ingredients:
Chicken- 500 gms
Sesame oil - 3 tbsp
Shallots- 1 cup ((peeled)
Dry red chilli- 10 (deseeded)
Curry leaves- 1 spring
Ginger garlic paste- 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder- 1 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Preparation:
1. Clean and wash the chicken. Cut the chicken into small bite sized pieces. Set aside.
2. Heat oil in the pan , add in the curry leaves and the dried red chillies (deseeded).
3. Then add shallots and salt. Saute till the shallots turns soft.
4. Add in the ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder and chilli powder.
5. Then add the chicken into it and give a gud mix.
6. Let it blend well with the masala.
7. Add a quarter cup of water and cover it. Keep the flame and allow it cook for 20 mins.
8. Serve hot with rice , roti and enjoy!!!
