 Ingredients:

Kodo millet / Varagu  - 1 cup

Moong dal  - ½ cup

Water -  4 cup

Salt

Ghee - 2 tbsp

Ginger- 1 small piece 

Cashews - 10

Cumin seeds - 1 tsp

Black Pepper - 1 tsp

Asafoetida powder- a pinch 

Curry leaves- handful

 Preparation:

1. Take kodo millet, moong dal, water and salt in a pressure cooker. Add grated ginger also ,it gives nice aroma to the dish.  

2. Pressure cook for 4 whistle. Open cooker once pressure is released. Check the the consistency and keep it  aside.

3. For  seasoning, Heat ghee, add cumin seeds, black pepper, cashew, asafoetida powder,curry leaves and let them sizzle.

4. Pour this seasoning over pongal and mix well. Serve with chutney or sambar....
